The Director of Digital Marketing will lead the OU Online unit in developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives, with a strong emphasis on digital marketing. This role is crucial for promoting educational programs and events, engaging a diverse audience, and driving growth through innovative digital marketing strategies. The Director will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective marketing investments and initiatives that align with the university's mission and strategic goals. The Director will be responsible for general management, which includes developing communication strategies to raise awareness of community engagement efforts, organizing team meetings, and managing the Community Development Executive team. This involves aligning community work and engagements with the university's branding and recruitment efforts. The Director will also assist in identifying new opportunities for community partnerships and initiatives, ensuring representation at community events, and communicating the goals and outcomes of community development initiatives to institutional leadership. In terms of social media management, the Director will design, develop, and manage the university's social media presence, creating strategies to boost engagement and grow the audience. Performance analysis will be a key function, where the Director will assess the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns, generate performance reports, and optimize spending based on data insights. The role also requires developing innovative growth strategies utilizing digital marketing techniques and collaborating with various departments to ensure cohesive messaging and promotion. The Director will oversee content creation, including developing a content calendar, assisting with website updates, and writing engaging content for the university's platforms. Event marketing responsibilities include executing digital marketing campaigns for university events and coordinating with academic teams for effective promotion. Additionally, the Director will manage vendor relationships to optimize marketing efforts and resources, ensuring that all marketing strategies are effectively executed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the OU Online unit in strategic marketing initiatives with a focus on digital marketing.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of community engagement efforts.
  • Organize and lead regular OU Online team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Manage the Community Development Executive team to align community work with branding and recruitment efforts.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for community partnerships and initiatives.
  • Increase representation at OUOL campuses and community events to promote engagement.
  • Communicate goals and outcomes of community development initiatives to institutional leadership.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of community development programs.
  • Prepare detailed reports on outreach and community impact for stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and manage OUOL's social media presence.
  • Create and implement social media strategies to boost engagement.
  • Assess the performance of digital marketing campaigns and generate performance reports.
  • Develop innovative growth strategies utilizing digital marketing techniques.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop a content calendar and messaging strategy.
  • Assist with website updates and content refresh.
  • Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to promote university events.
  • Assist in the coordination and production of the institution's newsletter.
  • Collaborate with marketing vendor partners to optimize marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree or related work experience preferred.
  • 5 or more years of leadership/management experience.
  • 10 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups to provide education and training.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to motivate staff and build a positive team.
  • Strong understanding of student retention strategies in a college environment.
  • Customer service oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
