About the position

The Director of Digital Marketing at Fairmont San Francisco is responsible for maximizing e-commerce revenue through strategic online marketing efforts. This role involves collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to develop and manage comprehensive digital marketing programs that drive traffic and revenue generation. The position requires a focus on customer acquisition and retention, utilizing various online mechanisms such as SEO, SEM, and email marketing, while also measuring performance metrics to identify growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the e-commerce strategy for the hotel, covering all online marketing efforts.
  • Measure key performance metrics using Google Analytics and other tools to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Provide monthly reporting summaries to the Executive Team and key stakeholders.
  • Manage online advertising efforts including display advertising and paid directory inclusions.
  • Advise on ad imagery, copy, and promotions in consultation with property and corporate teams.
  • Assist in developing annual marketing plans and budgets based on market analysis and performance metrics.
  • Participate in Corporate and Regional digital marketing calls to discuss new initiatives.
  • Manage email campaigns and oversee retention strategies using various online media.
  • Optimize the user experience on all devices and keep up to date with UX data.
  • Manage content and imagery on all digital channels to ensure a consistent web presence.
  • Own the commercial aspect of Online Travel Agencies and partner with Revenue Management on strategy.
  • Increase visibility through effective distribution of interactive video content.
  • Contribute to online social media strategies and reputation management best practices.
  • Investigate new technology and enhancements to increase revenue and customer experience.

Requirements

  • Extensive digital marketing experience of at least 5-7 years in a direct-to-consumer environment.
  • Expertise with Google Analytics, including GA4 certification, and other web analytics tools.
  • Certified Digital Marketer or comparable digital marketing training preferred.
  • Post-secondary Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year institution.
  • Experience purchasing online display advertising and coordinating online campaigns.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and presentational skills.
  • Ability to learn new programs and tasks quickly and effectively.
  • Comfortable working with various software applications and content management systems.
  • Experience in the travel or hospitality sector is an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
