About the position

The Director of Distribution Operations at IB Abel Inc. is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Line of Business (LOB) within the company. This role involves managing personnel and equipment, ensuring profitability, and leading initiatives to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. The Director will also engage in business development, client relations, and strategic planning to enhance service offerings and expand business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a safe and positive work atmosphere.
  • Participate in the safety committee to ensure an incident-free workplace.
  • Exemplify and communicate corporate values, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommend revisions to policies and procedures for improvement.
  • Represent the division with customers and industry associations as needed.
  • Review projects to address problems and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Develop an annual budget including capital expenditures with the Director of Operations.
  • Monitor key safety indicators and project profitability.
  • Ensure project managers conduct necessary meetings according to company policy.
  • Monitor quality of work and performance of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Maintain project documentation and correspondence records.
  • Review financial performance of the regions with the Director of Operations and CFO monthly.
  • Manage utilization of equipment and coordinate manpower allocation.
  • Coach projects and regions to achieve company goals.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and seek new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the proposal and bidding process for new projects.

Requirements

  • Business related Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Electrical Construction with progressive responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a business unit.
  • Capability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans.
  • Expertise in budgeting and financial management.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and relationship skills.
