About the position

The Director of District Athletics is responsible for administering the athletic program across the Colleton County School District. This role involves overseeing the selection and supervision of coaches, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining athletic facilities. The director also coordinates transportation for athletes, schedules events, and promotes the athletic program within the community.

Responsibilities

• Administers the District's athletic program, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Supervises coaching and support staff, including planning work and evaluating performance.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Coordinates transportation for athletes to events and practices.
• Develops and manages the athletic program budget and financial activities.
• Oversees maintenance of athletic fields and facilities, ensuring proper preparation for events.
• Implements procedures for athletic facility usage and coordinates scheduling for events.
• Serves as the District Representative in South Carolina High School League committees and meetings.
• Reviews and approves student eligibility for sports participation according to policies.
• Maintains positive relationships with parents and conducts necessary conferences.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Physical Education, Athletic Administration, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in athletic administration or a related field.
• Valid state driver's license.
