About the position

The Director of E-Commerce at Starwest Botanicals is responsible for leading the assessment, enhancement, and operational execution of the company's online sales channels. This role focuses on revenue generation through the company's website, online wholesale channels, Amazon, and resellers. The ideal candidate will improve SEO, e-commerce architecture, and brand growth while driving operational efficiency and enhancing user experience. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills to align technology initiatives with business objectives and drive impactful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and lead execution for online Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Business to Business (B2B) sales.
  • Collaborate with advertising and digital agency teams to develop marketing strategies and execute full funnel marketing programs.
  • Develop digital marketing strategies across website, email, social, search, and SMS to increase customer acquisition and retention.
  • Perform competitive analysis and evaluate category trends to increase market share and brand recognition.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience at each touchpoint in the shopper journey.
  • Manage and coach the Customer Service team for professional and personal development.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics to accelerate growth and team performance.
  • Drive test & learn experiments for continuous improvement within eCommerce capabilities.
  • Coordinate key P&L activities with the Finance team including budget planning and reporting.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Own the company's growth and profitability performance.
  • Set individual and channel targets for revenue, growth, and profitability.
  • Identify new market opportunities and assess the viability of new products.
  • Drive revenue growth through client acquisition and expansion of existing relationships.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to develop a high performance culture.
  • Participate in SIOP and sales forecasting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and finance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in DTC/eCommerce sales strategies and P&L management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the eCommerce digital landscape including web applications, SEO, social media, and email marketing.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving profitable revenue growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, computer science, or a related field is required.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, database management, and internet tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience managing a remote workforce throughout the country.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools.

  • Experience in the ingredients or CPG food & beverage industry.
  • Experience with BigCommerce, Hubspot, and Zendesk.
