About the position
The Director of Early Childhood Learning Center at Shalom Orlando Inc. is responsible for leading the Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) in Maitland, FL. This full-time position involves overseeing daily operations, strategic planning, staff management, and program development to ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate education rooted in the Reggio Emilia Approach and Jewish culture. The director will guide the center's vision, manage family engagement, and ensure compliance with educational standards.
Responsibilities
- Guide ECLC's vision and set program goals.
- Lead a Parent Advisory Committee.
- Stay updated on trends in early childhood education.
- Implement Reggio Emilia-inspired and Jewish curriculum.
- Oversee scheduling and integrate enrichment programs.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff.
- Foster professional development and ensure compliance with policies.
- Manage enrollment and communicate with parents.
- Connect with the Orlando Jewish community.
- Oversee budgeting and ensure compliance with licensing standards.
- Maintain a safe environment.
Requirements
- Meets Florida's 'Advanced' Director of Child Care credentials.
- Minimum of 5 years in early childhood education leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field required; master's or doctoral degree preferred.
- Knowledge of Jewish traditions and culture.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
