About the position

The Director of Early Childhood Wing at Bethlehem Church is responsible for leading the Early Childhood Wing of the Bethlehem Intergenerational Center (BIC). This full-time position involves overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children from infancy through preschool. The role emphasizes collaboration with the senior wing component and community engagement, aiming to build intergenerational relationships and promote the center's services.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and coordinate Early Childhood Wing staff, including teachers and assistant teachers.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment that complies with all applicable regulations.
• Oversee curriculum and the quality of care and safety of each Early Childhood classroom.
• Develop and maintain open and effective communication with the BIC team and parents of the children.
• Promote the Early Childhood services of BIC and provide 'friendly visits' for new users.
• Serve as a representative of BIC to the wider community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in early childhood education or related field, OR an Associate's degree from an accredited school in early childhood education or related field and 5 years of experience.
• Experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood setting.
• Skills necessary to provide care and education to children.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment and possess good organizational and supervisory skills.
• Ability to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in supervision of staff or team leadership preferred but not required.
