About the position

The Director of Encounter Data Reporting position is a full-time role within the Analytics and Reporting Department, located in New York City with a hybrid work model requiring in-office attendance two days per week. This position is pivotal in managing the encounter data submission processes to the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other regulatory entities as necessary. The successful candidate will lead the encounter data reporting team, overseeing the design and development of data processes that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves engaging with various stakeholders and vendors to facilitate accurate and timely encounter submissions, as well as providing support to other business areas and the compliance department regarding all inquiries and audits related to encounter data. In addition to managing the submission processes, the Director will be responsible for creating Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports on encounter data reporting, which will be presented to executives. The role also includes participation in organizational data governance and strategy activities, as well as the creation of process documents, policies, and procedures related to encounter data processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in SQL Server programming and a solid background in healthcare data, particularly in membership, provider, and claims data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall encounter data submission process to NYSDOH OSDS.
  • Manage overall encounter data submission process to CMS.
  • Provide support and oversight to delegated vendors on encounter data submission processes.
  • Support compliance and regulatory inquiries on encounter data processes.
  • Support MMCOR reporting.
  • Create KPI reports on encounter data reporting.
  • Participate in organizational data governance and data strategy activities.
  • Create process documents.
  • Create policies and procedures for encounter data processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science, or database management.
  • Minimum 7 years of programming experience in SQL Server database development.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in progressively complex healthcare data analytics.
  • Experience with BI reporting tools, such as BusinessObjects, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Ability to manage database developers and data analysts.
