Director of Engineering for Residences

About the position

The position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of the property, ensuring safety, security, and asset protection. The role includes managing budgets, capital projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation while developing strategies to meet the needs of guests and employees. The individual will lead the emergency response team and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building, grounds, and physical plant with a focus on safety and security.
• Manage the engineering operations and budget, ensuring performance against budgetary goals.
• Administer service contracts and verify compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.
• Develop and manage the engineering budget and operating strategy aligned with property goals.
• Supervise construction projects to ensure timely completion within budget.
• Lead the emergency response team for facility issues and maintain life safety systems.
• Monitor and manage controllable expenses to achieve budgeted goals.
• Conduct human resources activities, ensuring fair treatment of employees and resolving issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in engineering and maintenance, or a 2-year degree in a related field with 4 years of experience.
• Technical training in HVAC-R, Electrical, or Plumbing.
