About the position

The Director of Engineering at Public Partnerships LLC is responsible for leading a team of Engineering Managers and Software Engineers to develop and enhance products that support individuals with disabilities and aging adults. This role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to implementation, ensuring high-quality execution, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability within the engineering team. The Director will also collaborate closely with design, product, and business teams to deliver best-in-class solutions that align with the company's mission and business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Engineering Managers and Software Engineers to develop and enhance products from concept to implementation.
  • Research, evaluate, and incorporate new technologies and tools to enhance product engineering processes.
  • Independently identify and realize strategies that deliver significant value to customers and the business.
  • Maintain high standards for execution and quality, leading the organization to deliver consistent results.
  • Guide technical strategy to ensure teams deliver long-term value aligned with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with design, product, and business counterparts to build and market best-in-class products.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, creating an environment for optimal performance.
  • Influence and shape the engineering culture and strategy at Public Partnerships.
  • Implement best-in-class tools, technologies, processes, and practices in DevOps and quality engineering.
  • Lead the development of technical solutions and innovations, including proof-of-concepts and product implementations.
  • Maintain technology standards across all programs to align with organizational standards.
  • Provide input into project schedules, risks, and resource constraints.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of engineering experience in the Healthcare Space working with CMS, Medicaid Agencies, HIEs, and Commercial Health Plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for coaching and building inspired teams.
  • Ability to make effective decisions balancing ambiguity, data, speed, and iteration.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience operating at multiple levels, from developing vision and strategy to driving execution.
  • Previous startup experience or experience in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Java, J2EE, C#, .Net, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, Data Bricks, Azure/AWS, Power BI, and modern cloud-native applications.
  • Experience with DevOps services and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of quality engineering and assurance in agile and CI/CD environments.
  • Ability to manage and motivate large teams of 50+ people, mentoring both senior and junior talent.
  • Experience in estimating work, deliverables, and timelines for project plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
