About the position
The Director of Environmental Compliance & Sustainability at Regeneron is responsible for developing and leading strategies, policies, and objectives that align with the company's environmental compliance and sustainability efforts. This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape the environmental compliance and sustainability department across research facilities and global sales locations, driving innovation and stewardship to minimize environmental impact and achieve sustainability targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for compliance and sustainability.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership for environmental programs such as remediation, wastewater, and air emissions.
- Manage an EH&S team of line managers and senior-level professionals.
- Participate in corporate development of methods and evaluation criteria for projects and programs.
- Act as an external spokesperson on policies and objectives related to environmental compliance.
- Audit program effectiveness to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Review industrial accident investigation reports and implement corrective actions.
- Provide construction project support as a subject matter expert during all project phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental compliance and/or sustainability.
- At least 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/biologics preferred, but manufacturing or academia will also be considered.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in developing strategies for complex environmental compliance issues.
- Experience in contract/SOW preparation for external consultants.
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing teams in EH&S functions.
