About the position

The Director of Environmental Compliance is responsible for ensuring that Marmon Rail adheres to all applicable environmental regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. This role involves overseeing environmental compliance activities, advising management on environmental policies, and minimizing the company's liability through effective environmental management practices. The position also supervises a team of environmental professionals and coordinates the Responsible Care program to promote environmental stewardship within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Recognize, evaluate, and control potential environmental hazards.
• Advise management on applicable environmental regulations and their impact on operations.
• Supervise the Senior Environmental Engineer, two Senior Environmental Compliance Specialists, and one Regional Environmental Manager.
• Implement and maintain the Responsible Care program.
• Oversee environmental reviews of cleaning commodities at repair shops.
• Prepare for regulatory audits involving hazardous and solid waste, air emissions, and wastewater discharges.
• Establish and coordinate the development of environmental procedures and training programs.
• Direct the auditing program of all Marmon Rail locations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience in environmental compliance at a senior level.
