About the position

The Director of EOP, RSP & SEAS Affinity Programs at California State University, East Bay is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and management for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Renaissance Scholars Program (RSP), and SEAS Affinity Programs. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, developing strategic goals, managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing student service delivery to improve retention and graduation rates.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates EOP, RSP, GANAS, Sankofa Scholars, and AAPI staff, program services and activities.
  • Leads a team effort to develop, implement, monitor and communicate a strategic plan for advising initiatives for all SEAS programs.
  • Coordinates routine professional development opportunities for SEAS advising staff members.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and communicates a strategic plan for improving retention and graduation rates of the GANAS, Sankofa Scholars, and AAPI student cohort.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of services for GANAS, Sankofa Scholars, and AAPI, including outreach, recruitment, and advising.
  • Develops and reports program budget for GANAS, Sankofa Scholars, and AAPI with consultation with the AVP.
  • Develops and coordinates GANAS, Sankofa Scholars, and AAPI services and partnership involvement with culturally diverse community organizations.
  • Serves on committees across campus.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience which includes supervising professional staff.
  • Management knowledge and skills in the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff and support programs.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs.
  • Knowledge of various learning styles as well as cultural identities and differences.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with writing, securing, or monitoring grants and other external funding opportunities.
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team of higher education professionals.
