About The Position

The Director of Executive and Financial Communications at Cortland is responsible for developing and delivering a strategic narrative to investors and key stakeholders. This role involves collaborating with senior leaders and the Investor Relations (IR) team to craft impactful messaging about financial performance, ensuring clarity and engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong storytelling skills and a proven track record in investor communications, effectively weaving executive insights with financial data.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years in investor relations, financial, and capital markets communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, business, or a related field.
  • An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • A deep understanding of financial markets and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple work streams with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Real estate-industry experience is highly desirable.
  • High level of strategic thinking with proactive solution development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the IR team to develop and implement a comprehensive investor communication strategy.
  • Partner with IR on developing and executing presentations, marketing materials, quarterly reports, and other investor communications.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of shareholder communication efforts using surveys and feedback mechanisms.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to monitor external landscape and investor sentiment.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive executive communications strategy.
  • Work with executives to capture their strategic priorities in media and internal communications.
  • Develop communication strategies to position executives as thought leaders.
  • Partner with IR on the production of financial reports and presentations for shareholder engagement.
  • Manage communications calendars for significant initiatives.
  • Create and refine written content, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
