About the position

The Director of External Reporting is a critical role responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and filing of the company's financial information with NASDAQ and TSX. This position involves leading the external reporting process, ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP, and managing relationships with auditors and cross-functional teams. The role is hybrid, based in Sarasota, FL, and requires a strong background in technical accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the corporate TSX & NASDAQ external reporting process in accordance with IFRS Standards & US GAAP.
• Research and opine on technical accounting & reporting matters and implement new accounting standards as needed.
• Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors regarding external reporting and SEC filing deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with NASDAQ and TSX reporting requirements, including filing quarterly and annual reports with the SEC.
• Manage the administration and maintenance of the company's external reporting software, Workiva.
• Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to drive key external reporting initiatives.
• Manage relationships with accounting service providers to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years' experience in various Accounting and Finance roles at a senior level, preferably in a medium-sized multi-national organization.
• CPA designation required with NASDAQ reporting experience.
• Knowledge of SEC, OSC, IFRS, and US GAAP accounting, reporting, and disclosure requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with researching and communicating SEC reporting disclosure guidance.
• Experience with consolidations in a large multi-national organization.
• Proven self-starter with the ability to balance multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with high attention to detail.
