About the position
The Director of Facilities Services is responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of municipal facilities within Bell County. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating maintenance projects, developing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The Director will also handle inquiries related to building maintenance and provide emergency support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, addressing employee concerns and performance appraisals.
- Coordinates, assigns, and reviews work, establishing work schedules and monitoring progress.
- Develops annual operating budget, including capital improvements and life cycle assessments for buildings and equipment.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates renovations, repairs, and maintenance projects on District facilities.
- Ensures compliance with building codes and safety standards, maintaining maintenance contracts.
- Receives and responds to inquiries and complaints regarding building and grounds maintenance.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints and specifications.
- Implements security measures for facilities, including HVAC and utility services.
- Communicates and coordinates work activities with department heads.
- Provides 24/7 after-hour emergency support.
- Performs general administrative tasks, including preparing reports and correspondence.
- Processes contracts for architecture, engineering, and construction services.
- Enforces risk management and safety programs.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a relevant field.
- Six years of experience in municipal facilities management or equivalent experience.
