About the position

The Director of Finance & Administration plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term health of the organization and fulfilling its strategic and operational objectives. As a key member of the senior management team, this position oversees various financial and administrative functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, risk management, and human resources, while reporting directly to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and planning.
  • Manage risk management and legal affairs.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and effective.
  • Supervise human resources and information technology functions.
  • Handle key aspects of office management.
  • Prepare financial reports and translate financial information for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing financial and administrative aspects of a non-profit organization, preferably in the performing arts.
  • Strong nonprofit financial literacy and ability to prepare financial reports.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills from an organization-wide perspective.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
