About the position

The Director of Finance & Administration at Causewave Community Partners Inc. is a pivotal role designed to support the organization's mission of fostering positive change within nonprofit organizations and the community. The Finance & Operations Coordinator will collaborate closely with Causewave staff, nonprofit partners, and external resources to achieve shared goals. In this role, the Finance & Operations Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of finance and operations tasks. On the finance side, the Coordinator will partner with the Director of Finance & Administration to execute the organization's accounting policies, procedures, and internal control activities. This includes receiving and processing payments to the organization and assisting in performing monthly close procedures. On the operations and office management side, the Coordinator will play a crucial role in keeping the Causewave team well-informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities on internal projects, ensuring maximum organizational efficiency. The Coordinator will also manage contracts and invoices with vendors, oversee inventories of office supplies and equipment, and coordinate the onboarding and training process for new employees. Participation in internal projects as needed is also expected, along with learning and leveraging multiple online systems and tools to support the mission work. The role requires a strong financial acumen, excellent organizational skills, and a customer service orientation, all while maintaining a strong desire to contribute positively to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Finance & Administration in executing the organization's accounting policies, procedures, and internal control activities.
  • Receive and process payments to the organization.
  • Assist in performing monthly close procedures.
  • Work closely with the entire Causewave team to keep everyone informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities on internal projects.
  • Manage contracts and invoices with vendors.
  • Manage inventories of office supplies and equipment; prepare and submit orders for purchase.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training process for new employees.
  • Participate as needed on internal projects.
  • Learn and leverage multiple online systems and tools to support the mission work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in finance or operations roles.
  • Financial acumen with comfort in working with spreadsheets and numbers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong desire to make a positive impact in the community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience (internships count).
