About the position

The Director of Finance and Administration at Central Montessori Academy (CMA) is responsible for managing the financial resources of the school, ensuring effective planning, control, accounting, and reporting of all financial activities. This role supports the head of school and collaborates with the board treasurer and Finance Committee to uphold the school's mission and manage its business office responsibilities, including compliance with government regulations and employee compensation policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial resources of the school in support of students and employees.
  • Oversee planning, control, accounting, and reporting of income, expenses, and funds.
  • Handle business office responsibilities including risk management, insurance, and transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal government regulations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and fiscal management activities.
  • Analyze and organize financial data for reporting and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively with both students and adults.
  • Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with QuickBooks and other financial software packages.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new computer software packages.
