About the position

The Director of Finance and Operations will oversee the financial and operational aspects of a residential property management company. This strategic leadership role focuses on enhancing financial performance, streamlining operations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, operations management, and property management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and management of owner-client financial statements, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize rent collections and minimize delinquencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of rent postings and payments to owners.
  • Oversee daily operations of property management, including leasing, maintenance, and tenant relations.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for services and supplies.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to ensure operational excellence.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop property management staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage for properties and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial and operational goals with overall company strategy.
  • Communicate financial performance and operational updates to stakeholders, including investors and property owners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or minimum 10 years' experience in property management in accounting/operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and operations management, preferably in property management or real estate.
  • Strong understanding of property management software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
