About the position

The Director of Finance and Operations is a newly-established role at Crossroads Talent Solutions, responsible for overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the organization. This position reports directly to the CEO and plays a crucial role in budgeting, financial performance monitoring, and operational excellence. The Director will collaborate with department heads and the CEO to ensure financial integrity and provide strategic financial advice, while also managing HR and IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial and operating reviews of programs and budget new initiatives.
  • Provide value-added financial advice to assist in effective management of departments and programs.
  • Develop financial and operational analyses, including prospective and retrospective financial analyses.
  • Participate in the annual strategic planning process to provide financial advice and analysis.
  • Oversee the activities and performance of the external CPA firm, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assure timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements are prepared by the external CPA firm.
  • Coordinate and oversee payroll preparation and payroll tax reporting by the external CPA firm.
  • Manage external IT contractors and vendors, resolving escalated IT issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory filings and maintain active non-profit status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Eight+ years of accounting, finance, and operations roles, including experience in non-profit organizations.
  • Ability to manage infrastructure operations including HR, IT, compliance, and organizational management.
  • Extensive experience managing internal and external reporting and setting up financial controls.
  • Excellent communication, analytic, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with QuickBooks or related financial systems.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Database management experience (e.g., Salesforce) is a bonus.
