USA Judo is the national governing body for the sport of Judo recognized by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and the International Judo Federation. The Director of Finance, Compliance & Office Operations is responsible for effectively managing all aspects of the finance needs for USA Judo. This includes overseeing all day-to-day financial operations such as accounts payable and receivable, with a significant focus on transactional activity. The role also encompasses short and long-term financial planning responsibilities, including the development of yearly and quadrennial budgets that align with strategic plans. Additionally, the director will monitor investments in the US Olympic & Paralympic Endowment and oversee human resources activities, including payroll, 401k, and benefits administration. Compliance responsibilities related to USOPC and independent audits, as well as basic office operations, are also key components of this position. The director will report directly to the CEO and will have frequent interactions with other staff members, the board of directors, vendors, athletes, coaches, and members of the USA Judo community. This position requires a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting standards, as well as the ability to manage and report all income and expenses, including Value in Kind. The director will lead the design, development, and implementation of budgets, cash flow management, forecasting, and end-of-year reporting. Furthermore, the role involves preparing and presenting financial reports to the CEO and Audit Committee, managing office operations, and assisting with grant applications and reporting as necessary.
