About the position

The Director of Finance/Controller is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the organization. This position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and provides strategic financial guidance to support the organization's growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and regulatory reporting, and will be instrumental in managing financial statements, internal controls, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
• Conduct general ledger reconciliation and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to comply with SOX regulations.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by governing bodies.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits to ensure compliance with public accounting standards.
• Utilize financial software, including Quick Books, for efficient financial management and reporting.
• Provide training and support to accounting staff on double entry bookkeeping practices.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Director of Finance/Controller or similar role in public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles, including GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with Sage is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
