About the position

The Director of Finance at Hilton Des Moines Downtown is responsible for overseeing and directing all financial operations of the hotel. This role aims to ensure outstanding guest service and financial profitability through effective financial management, compliance with accounting principles, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Direct and administer all financial operations of the hotel, including asset protection, financial reporting, and budget management.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Serve as a financial advisor to hotel management and ownership.
• Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses of the hotel.
• Assist department heads in interpreting and analyzing financial data to maximize profitability.
• Prepare annual plans, projections, and budgets.
• Monitor and develop team member performance, including supervision and professional development.
• Recruit, interview, and train team members.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• 4-year college degree preferred.
• At least 3 years' experience in the finance field preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience in direct supervision and management preferred.
• Ability to obtain any government-required licenses or certificates.
