About the position

The Director of Finance - Operations is responsible for the overall financial management and coordination of operational results within the organization. Reporting to the VP of Financial Planning and Analysis, this role involves assessing business trends, providing strategic support, and addressing operational issues to drive financial improvements. The position requires a strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to develop long-range strategic plans, annual budgets, and forecasts while ensuring effective communication and relationship building with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial management and coordination of operational results.
• Create and provide monthly presentations to management at various levels.
• Lead and present monthly operating reviews with GVPs.
• Collaborate as a cross-functional business partner in developing strategic plans and budgets.
• Support the development and execution of site plans and key performance indicators.
• Monitor and communicate monthly risks and opportunities.
• Drive process improvements to streamline reporting and analytics.
• Support analysis of site decisions, including transfers and expansions.
• Ensure effective site performance reviews and capital investment returns.
• Manage direct reports' performance, development, and training.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Business, Finance or Accounting
• 10+ years of financial experience
• Strong financial acumen
• Ability to resolve complex financial issues
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience managing a remote team
• Advanced Excel and modeling skills
• Proficiency in forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
• Experience in veterinary, multi-site healthcare, or multi-store retail
