About the position

The Director of Finance at LA Conservation Corps is responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and managing financial reporting and analysis. This role involves leading a team, maintaining internal controls, and collaborating with various departments to support the organization's financial health and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting activities and ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Design and maintain accounting information systems to produce timely financial data for internal decision-making.
• Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
• Lead Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, managing a team of Billing Specialists.
• Prepare organizational cash flow forecasting in partnership with program and development leadership.
• Lead the annual audit process and maintain relationships with external auditors.
• Support the CEO and CFO in engaging the Board of Directors' Finance Committee on financial issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.
• Supervise subordinate managers and build a highly effective finance team.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial data and present reports to senior leaders.
• Collaborate with Development on fundraising accounting and grant budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least five years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
• Significant experience with non-profit accounting systems and government funding compliance.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business Administration or CPA certification.
• Working knowledge of Questica budgeting software and Sage Intacct accounting system.
