About the position

The Director of Finance will oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring effective communication with management and external clients. This role involves developing and implementing scalable policies and procedures, assisting with ERP implementation, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The director will also focus on team development and present financial performance metrics to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Accounting Department.
• Manage the accounting team to ensure effective communication with all levels of management and external clients/consultants.
• Work with the Controller to develop, document, and implement scalable policies and procedures for quality improvement.
• Assist with ERP implementation, including staff training and development.
• Review financial processes and procedures for compliance with GAAP and audit requirements.
• Develop and encourage growth within the organization.
• Understand NetSuite applications related to financial data and performance metrics.
• Prepare and present executive briefings on financial performance and strategic metrics.
• Manage integration of technology and process management across departments.
• Streamline financial recording of client sales transactions and standardize procedures across teams.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial accounting processes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and lead initiatives to improve Client Services processes.
• Respond to financial inquiries from clients and delegate to appropriate team leaders.
• Coordinate with IT for training on new systems and ensure platform security.
• Research solutions to complex accounting system challenges.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for financial operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
• Master's in accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in private industry or Big Four Accounting Firm.
• Audit or assurance experience required; CPA highly preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Systems, and banking portals required.
• Tipalti experience is a plus.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.
• Ability to work with senior executives on a daily basis.
• Prior training experience in a customer service-focused role.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
