About the position

Our client is seeking a seasoned and energetic professional to lead their finance and accounting department. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in manufacturing and government contract accounting, along with proven supervisory experience. This role will have the Controller and Office Manager as direct reports. The successful candidate will supervise all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis. They will ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and deliver monthly financial reports to senior management and the parent company. Additionally, the candidate will lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficient and effective departmental performance while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local government accounting and financial reporting regulations. The role also involves managing government contract accounting, including WAWF invoicing, preparation and submission of indirect rates, and compliance with FAR and DFARS. The candidate will develop and implement financial policies and procedures to strengthen and protect the company's financial position. Performing financial analysis and providing strategic recommendations to senior management will be key responsibilities. Furthermore, the candidate will coordinate the preparation of tax workpapers with the external accounting firm and collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives. Optimizing ERP systems to streamline financial processes and enhance data accuracy and accessibility will also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years GL accounting experience.
  • 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Govcon accounting experience (understanding of government billing, pricing, proposals, indirect rates, FAR/DFAR, etc.).
  • Excel - pivot tables, vlookups.
