About the position

The Director of Finance at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is a key leadership role responsible for safeguarding the hotel's financial resources and maximizing profitability. This position involves providing accurate financial information and counsel to senior management, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and developing finance staff for future growth. The Director will work closely with the General Manager and the hotel leadership team to make strategic operational decisions that enhance the overall service experience for guests and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the hotel assets and financial resources to maximize profitability.
  • Assist the General Manager in establishing and enhancing policies, internal controls, and safeguards.
  • Deliver high-quality financial reporting and analysis with integrity and accuracy.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Maintain compliance with contracts, leases, and agreements, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with loan covenants and maintain accurate long-term debt records.
  • Manage insurance policies and documentation, and fund capital reserves timely.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations according to accounting principles.
  • Achieve successful scores on internal audits and maintain proper billing procedures.
  • Monitor and manage labor costs in compliance with employment laws.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets as required by corporate office and management agreements.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in a related position, preferably as a hotel Director of Finance.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of all jobs in the Accounting area.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accomplish responsibilities.
  • High degree of professional integrity and ability to work in a safe and organized manner.
  • Commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Minimum of a BSC or BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting/Finance preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Four Seasons or similar luxury hotel brands.
  • Ability to demonstrate unique personality and service style while achieving brand standards.
