The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the District, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the General Manager and the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in the government sector or a related field, with at least three years in a management or supervisory role. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is required, while a CPA license or a Master’s degree is considered desirable but not mandatory. The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in maintaining the District's financial health and will be expected to lead a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. This position offers a competitive salary of up to $180,045, depending on qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous contributions to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a monthly HRA contribution, and lifetime retiree medical insurance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial operations of the Midway City Sanitary District.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the General Manager and Board of Directors.
- Manage and supervise the finance team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Prepare and present financial reports and budgets to stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in government sector accounting or finance.
- At least three years of responsible management and supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Possession of a CPA license or a Master’s degree is desirable but not required.
