About the position

The Director of Finance at Dignity Health Medical Group is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the financial management of the organization. This position entails a comprehensive range of functions including budgeting, cost accounting, decision support, management engineering, financial analysis, and special projects. The Director will specifically support the Physician Enterprise medical groups operating in the Arizona and Nevada markets, ensuring that financial operations align with the overall mission of Dignity Health. In this role, the Director will proactively develop, analyze, and interpret key financial performance indicators, focusing on profitability, performance against budget, and identifying trends to recommend corrective actions. The position requires coordination and direction in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, as well as the establishment and maintenance of planning and control procedures. The Director will also assist various departments with budget compliance and provide training on budget analysis as needed. Additionally, the Director of Finance will engage in special projects, which may include evaluating new business opportunities and developing related proformas and business plans. Utilizing multiple management tools and technologies, the Director will identify opportunities for improvement within the organization, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of Dignity Health Medical Group.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and interpret key financial performance indicators related to profitability and budget performance.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Institute and maintain planning and control procedures.
  • Assist departments with budget compliance and conduct budget analysis training as needed.
  • Provide assistance with special projects, including evaluation of new business opportunities and development of proformas and business plans.
  • Utilize management tools and technologies to identify opportunities for improvement within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting and finance experience in a large organization, with at least three years in healthcare.
  • Minimum of three years of managerial experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree
  • CPA or comparable experience
  • Five to ten years of progressive managerial experience in Ambulatory Healthcare / IDS Medical Group
  • Working knowledge of Physician and Advanced Practice Provider compensation models and administration
  • Experience with Lawson, Axiom, and Infor Global HR
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a changing environment and in multiple diverse markets.
