About the position

Associa is a leading provider of property management services, specializing in residential properties. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and value to our clients and residents. As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to join our team. As the Corporate and Client Finance and Accounting Director, you will oversee all financial aspects of our property management operations. You will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting to support business growth and profitability. This position reports directly to the branch president and works closely with senior management and property managers. The Financial Director is responsible for managing the overall financial health for a large-scale online payment application system as well as the accuracy of individual communities' financial status. The Financial Director is also responsible for leading the organization's financial analysis, supporting application user experience, and creating financial reports and strategies based on financial research and analysis. Strong executive presence and ability to manage significant amounts of complex data is critical for this role. In this role, you will maintain the financial health of the organization, which includes preparing monthly branch financials, the annual branch budget, and quarterly branch forecasts. You will prepare the Association budget templates, including training for the Association managers and reviewing completed budgets prior to meetings with the Boards. Additionally, you will monitor and oversee the execution of the monthly Association financial reporting packages and the annual association audit execution. You will provide leadership and department supervision to a high-performing accounting team of portfolio accountants, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Furthermore, you will oversee the operations of the finance team, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met. You will also oversee the online payment support process by monitoring customer tickets, coaching the analysts on responses and actions, and responding to escalated concerns. Creating monthly and quarterly forecasts based on known or potential risks and opportunities will be part of your responsibilities. You will interpret complex transactional data and provide financial reports and guidance to leadership, offering insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in strategic planning and decision-making, including Special Assessment guidance and support to the Property Managers. Additionally, you will prepare ad hoc reports and financial modeling as needed while maintaining a working knowledge of legislative, condominium regulations, and requirements. Various other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or CPA Candidate preferred.
  • 5-8 years of progressive financial reporting and analysis experience required.
  • Strong, demonstrated use of Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools is required.
