About the position

The Controller & Director of Finance at It's A Secret Med Spa is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the organization. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on management to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team to achieve the company's financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability goals.
  • Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial laws and regulations.
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Manage banking relationships and negotiate credit facilities and financing arrangements.
  • Oversee the purchasing department to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures to maintain optimal inventory levels and control costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best terms and pricing.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Support and participate in strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, business expansion, and other special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
