We're seeking a Director of Financial Crimes Compliance/AML/BSA Officer to lead our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) programs, ensuring our operations align with regulatory standards, support our bank partnerships, and enhance our financial crimes prevention framework.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and continuously enhance the AML and CFT compliance framework, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory expectations, industry best practices, and bank partner requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, integrating financial crime risk into broader enterprise risk management initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary financial crime compliance representative for regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders, providing key insights on risk exposure, mitigation strategies, and program enhancements.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of investigators and compliance professionals.
  • Design and refine financial crime compliance reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership, regulatory authorities, and bank partners.
  • Oversee financial crime detection technologies, transaction monitoring systems, and investigative workflows to enhance risk detection while minimizing false positives and operational inefficiencies.
  • Stay ahead of evolving AML/CFT regulations, ensuring proactive adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain structured reporting schedules, ensuring executive leadership, auditors, and bank partners receive timely updates on compliance risks, program effectiveness, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in financial crime compliance, AML/BSA.
  • Certifications such as CAMS, CFE, or CRCM are preferred.
  • Previous experience as board appointed AML/BSA Officer.
  • Deep understanding of BSA/AML, CFT, OFAC, and FinCEN regulations.
  • Proven ability to drive enterprise-wide compliance strategies and implement large-scale process improvements.
  • Strong ability to assess financial crime risks, leverage data analytics, and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience engaging regulators, bank partners, and senior leadership on financial crimes compliance matters.
  • Experience overseeing transaction monitoring platforms, case management systems, and automation tools.
