About the position

The Director of Financial Operations at Bain Capital is responsible for overseeing corporate-level internal and external reporting requirements for the Global Management Company. This role involves managing operational teams within Corporate Finance, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and leading transformational initiatives to enhance reporting and operational efficiency. The Director will collaborate with various stakeholders across compliance, internal audit, legal, tax, and business finance to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the US Controller to oversee various internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of transformational reporting initiatives.
  • Manage corporate finance policies and procedures, including risk analysis and controls assessment programs.
  • Oversee teams maintaining the expense report system, accounts payables, balance sheet management, and cash reconciliations.
  • Oversee the processing of expense allocations across capital markets businesses.
  • Manage certain accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely repayment and reporting needs are met.
  • Oversee cashflow management and balance sheet reporting metrics.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to manage business needs as they arise.
  • Support the External Reporting function, including audits and tax return preparation.
  • Assist with key systems enhancements within the Corporate Finance Function.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 15+ years of related experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience in controllership or public accounting for an investment firm
  • Solid understanding of internal control frameworks and process improvements
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Experience with Workday Financials and/or Anaplan reporting is a plus
