About the position

iSpot.tv is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to expand the Finance and Accounting team and support the company's growth. This role is critical in managing financial reporting packages, leading technical accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and management reporting responsibilities. The individual will be responsible for identifying value-add opportunities to promote process standardization and efficiencies within the department while maintaining accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing the preparation, review and filing of the Company's financial reporting packages.
• Leading the development of a strong technical accounting and policy function, including identifying best practices and formalizing processes.
• Partnering with the corporate controller to create, update or clarify global financial policies.
• Participating in the implementation of accounting and/or reporting related systems.
• Identifying, researching, consulting, and drafting technical memorandums on significant and complex transactions.
• Educating the finance organization on accounting pronouncements and application of policy.
• Assisting with the coordination and management of the annual external audit process.
• Reviewing, updating and maintaining control documentation related to financial reporting.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Technical Accounting and financial reporting, with SEC reporting experience preferred.
• Combination of Big 4 experience plus industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification, with management experience at a large public accounting firm preferred.
• Proficiency with researching accounting literature including FASB, SEC, AICPA and IFRS rules and regulations.
• Strong project management, leadership, relationship development and people management skills.
• Results-oriented with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
