About the position

The Director of Food Services is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the Food Services Department at Trilogy Health Services. This role ensures that quality nutritional services are provided daily while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local standards. The Director will lead the department's activities, manage staff, and coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the overall operation of the Food Services Department.
  • Organizes, evaluates, and directs the Food Services Department activities.
  • Implements programs and activities of the department in collaboration with related departments.
  • Completes staff scheduling for optimal daily functions according to company policy.
  • Processes diet changes and new diets as received from Clinical Services.
  • Interviews residents or family members within 24 to 72 hours upon admission and completes online preference forms.
  • Ensures proper training for all new employees in line with the Culinary Apprenticeship Program.
  • Maintains productive working relationships with other department supervisors to assure uninterrupted daily services.
  • Ensures adequate stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment are maintained.
  • Purchases food service supplies and equipment as required.
  • Implements procedures for the safe operation of all food services equipment.
  • Provides substitute foods of similar nutritive value to residents who refuse food served.
  • Controls and remains within budget requirements for supplies, food, and labor costs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in food service management.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
  • Certified Food Service Manager certification required.
  • Similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body required.
