About the position

The Director of Football Operations at Bethune-Cookman University is responsible for overseeing all logistical, operational, and administrative aspects of the football program. This role plays a critical role in supporting the Head Football Coach and ensuring the efficient functioning of the team both on and off the field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the football program, including scheduling practices, games, and team activities.
  • Coordinate team travel arrangements, including transportation, lodging, and meals.
  • Oversee the budget for football operations and ensure financial resources are allocated effectively.
  • Supervise football support staff, including equipment managers, trainers, and administrative personnel.
  • Coordinate recruiting logistics and support recruiting efforts by organizing campus visits, recruiting weekends, and communication with recruits.
  • Maintain compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the football program and various university departments, including athletics administration, academic advising, and facilities management.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events, such as fundraising activities, alumni events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Ensure the maintenance and inventory of football equipment and facilities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head Football Coach as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Sports Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in football operations, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to football operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with coaches, staff, student-athletes, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software related to football operations, such as recruiting databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the football schedule.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes the welfare and development of student-athletes.
