The Director of Football Recruiting Strategy and Events plays a pivotal role in the recruitment of student-athletes, which is one of the most critical areas of football operations. This position requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, as the incumbent will be privy to sensitive information regarding student-athlete recruitment. The role involves direct oversight of administrative duties for both official and unofficial recruiting visits, which includes managing travel arrangements, accommodations, meals, tours, compliance documentation, and expense reports. Additionally, the Director will assist with the planning and execution of special events related to recruiting, such as pregame and postgame parties, dinners, banquets, and social events for official visits. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the recruiting database, ensuring that all information on recruits is thoroughly analyzed and up-to-date. This data is crucial for the Director of Recruiting to effectively communicate with the coaching staff as they plan visits. The role requires collecting statistical data on recruits and maintaining computerized reports to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and to evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting methods. Furthermore, the Director will coordinate compliance efforts related to the football recruiting database, logging all data entries for coaches' telephone calls, evaluations, and visit documentation. In addition to these responsibilities, the Director will handle purchasing for the football recruiting office, including invoice approvals, and assist in managing the recruiting board and prospect strategy to meet the team's needs based on depth charts and eligibility. The role also involves advancing LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through participation in educational and developmental opportunities, fostering an inclusive culture consistent with LSU's values, and performing other duties as assigned.
