About the position

The Director of Global Marketing at Teleflex Incorporated will play a pivotal role in leading, managing, and overseeing the execution of Global Product Management and downstream marketing strategies for an assigned product franchise within the Interventional business unit. This position is crucial for ensuring that product, promotional, and clinical programs align with the overall strategy to meet growth and profit expectations for both the Global and North American markets. The Director will be responsible for attracting top talent, guiding professional development for team members, and providing strategic guidance to Marketing and Product Managers reporting to this position. In this role, the Director will lead cross-geographic and cross-functional teams to ensure the success of projects and product launches. They will advocate for international markets and market development, acting as a change agent to expand specified market areas. The Director will develop and implement strategic initiatives, optimize resources, and create the annual North American operating plan for the Interventional business in collaboration with the vice president of global marketing. Additionally, they will lead marketing launch plans for new products and clinical programs, conduct market research, and support product evaluations for new introductions. The Director will also manage the marketing team's operating expenses and travel budget, work closely with cross-functional partners on the Concept to Commercialization process, and stay informed about healthcare reform to translate this understanding into effective promotional strategies. They will manage agencies and vendors to ensure timely project completion within budget and support RFI/RFP processes for GPO/IDN bids. Furthermore, the Director will develop pricing strategies and ensure compliance with Teleflex's Code of Ethics and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Attract top talent and guide and support professional development for team members.
  • Provide strategic guidance and supervise Marketing and Product Managers who report to this position.
  • Provide the leadership necessary to direct the business in its mission to achieve the sales, gross margin, and contribution profit objectives established by the Interventional Business Unit.
  • Lead cross-geographic and cross-functional team(s) to ensure project and launch success.
  • Be the advocate for international markets and market development at the business unit level.
  • Act as a passionate change agent to develop and expand specified market areas.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives by optimizing resources.
  • Develop the annual North American operating plan for the Interventional business in conjunction with the vice president of global marketing.
  • Lead North American marketing launch plans for new products, clinical programs, and product improvement programs.
  • Conduct market surveys, market research, product evaluations for line extensions and support product evaluations for new product introductions, as required.
  • Achieve annual sales plan and margin targets for the Interventional business.
  • Manage assigned Operating Expenses and T&E budget for marketing team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners relative to Concept to Commercialization NPD process, product positioning/messaging, and forecasting for new product opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of healthcare reform and the economic environment and translate understanding into messaging within North American Interventional promotional strategy.
  • Effectively manage agencies and vendors to ensure on-time project completion within budget.
  • Support RFI/RFP processes for GPO/IDN bids.
  • Lead the marketing activities related to becoming a solution provider, including developing advertising and sales promotion programs, brochures, ads, slides, posters, and specification booklets.
  • Develop pricing strategy and achieve price increase determined by the operating plan.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with Teleflex's Code of Ethics and all Company policies, rules, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 5-10+ years marketing experience.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive management experience.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience managing commercialization initiatives in the medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated product management experience within a quality design system in the medical device industry.
