About the position

The Director of Global Operations Center at Southern Airways Corporation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Operations Department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing flight following duties. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the company's mission of providing exceptional service and prioritizing passenger safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Operations Department, including staffing and training.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of FAR 135 operations.
• Manage flight following duties from departure to arrival for all flights.
• Ensure all assigned crewmembers are current and qualified for their flights.
• Monitor flight and duty time requirements for compliance before flights.
• Terminate, divert, or cancel flights if safety or regulatory considerations are not met.
• Notify the Director of Operations and/or Chief Pilot of any delays or unscheduled landings.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, and other pertinent instructions.
• Exercise Operational Control under FAR 135.77 when delegated by the Director of Operations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of previous Flight Dispatcher experience.
• At least 4 years of prior airline Flight Operations experience.
• Experience with scheduling crews and aircraft.
• Three to five years of prior supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Spreadsheets.
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible, rotating schedules, including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License preferred but not required.
