About the position

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an extraordinary Director of Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) who is passionate about protecting corporate assets, including people, property, and information. This role involves building a comprehensive program to operate a GSOC that focuses on safeguarding Palo Alto Networks and its global assets. The Director will report to the Vice President of Global Places & Security and will collaborate closely with various teams, including IT, Places, Internal Communications, InfoSec, HR, and Legal. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working both independently and collaboratively within a collegial team setting. In this position, creativity is essential. The Director will work with senior leadership and all employees to translate the company’s culture, values, and strategies into practical applications for safety and security. The role requires managing the GSOC function as the central hub for all safety and security matters, maintaining failover support in the Bangalore Regional Security Center, and prioritizing program development in alignment with Global Places and Security stakeholders. The Director will also be responsible for building world-class Intelligence, Analytics, and Operations functions under the GSOC umbrella. Excellent communication skills are crucial for developing policies and standards that provide a consistent benchmark for global safety and security. The Director will utilize data, metrics, and qualitative feedback to make strategic decisions and demonstrate ROI. Additionally, the role involves managing tools, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure a seamless customer experience when engaging with the GSOC. The Director will act as the global face for incident management, build an internal brand, and represent Palo Alto Networks in external forums focused on the SAS program, leveraging these interactions to keep the company at the forefront of best practices in workplace safety and security. The position also emphasizes driving cost and operational efficiency while continuously innovating and championing diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) focused on protecting Palo Alto Networks and its assets globally.
  • Manage the GSOC function as the central hub for all safety and security matters.
  • Maintain failover support in the Bangalore Regional Security Center.
  • Collaborate with the SAS Ops team to prioritize program development and align with Global Places and Security stakeholders.
  • Develop world-class Intelligence, Analytics, and Operations functions under the GSOC umbrella.
  • Create and implement policies and standards for global safety and security.
  • Utilize data and metrics to make strategic decisions and demonstrate ROI.
  • Manage tools, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure a frictionless customer experience with the GSOC.
  • Act as the global face for incident management and build an internal brand.
  • Represent Palo Alto Networks in external forums related to workplace safety and security best practices.
  • Drive cost and operational efficiency while continuously innovating.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or significant equivalent experience in security and safety-related requirements.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a corporate security environment.
  • Recent experience running a successful GSOC program in a comparable environment.
  • Ability to build the GSOC program with growth and change in mind.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Understanding of compliance, efficiency, and industry standards.
  • Ability to manage and deliver within a reasonable budget.
  • Detail-oriented with both analytical and creative strengths.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous military or law enforcement experience is a plus.
