The Director of Group Sales at The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe is responsible for leading and managing all day-to-day activities related to the sales function, with a strong emphasis on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that facilitate the achievement of property sales objectives. This role involves providing support for sales activities for larger, more complex accounts, monitoring and managing team booking goals, and making recommendations on the booking goals of direct reports. The Director will create opportunities to grow the account base through proactive customer interactions and strategic planning. In this position, the Director will work closely with the sales leader to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the sales strategy and its effective implementation at the property. This includes collaborating with the sales team to develop and execute a sales plan that addresses revenue targets, customer engagement, and market positioning. The Director will also assist in the development and implementation of promotional activities, both internally and externally, to maximize revenue potential. The role requires a strong focus on maximizing revenue through positive leadership and setting an example with personal booking goals. The Director will monitor all daily activities of direct reports, approve space releases for catering to optimize revenue, and participate in sales calls to acquire new business or close existing deals. Additionally, the Director will analyze market information using sales systems to implement strategies that achieve the property's financial goals, assist in revenue management projections, and review guest satisfaction results to identify areas for improvement. Building successful relationships is a key component of this role, as the Director will develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes working with various departments to ensure compliance with regulations and attending customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to maintain and develop key relationships. The Director will also interact with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels, ensuring that the Ritz-Carlton's high standards are met consistently. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Director will conduct human resource activities, including interviewing and hiring management and hourly employees, utilizing on-the-job training tools, and empowering employees to provide excellent customer service. The Director will exemplify leadership in guest hospitality and create a positive example for guest relations, incorporating guest satisfaction into departmental meetings to foster continuous improvement.
