About the position

The Director of Health Programs at the Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA) is a full-time, exempt position responsible for overseeing health-related initiatives aimed at enhancing health equity for the Latino community. This role involves strategic planning, program management, community outreach, and relationship building with stakeholders to ensure access to culturally relevant health services. The Director will lead a team of health professionals, promote health education, and advocate for policies that support underserved populations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all health programs, including public health education and prevention services.
  • Manage and support a team of health program staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery and staff development.
  • Foster strong relationships with the Latino community and healthcare providers to ensure effective health services delivery.
  • Identify funding opportunities and lead the development of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with LCDA leadership to develop long-term strategies for health programs.
  • Cultivate relationships with local healthcare providers and public health agencies to enhance program reach and access to health services.
  • Advocate for policies that promote health equity and access to healthcare for underserved Latino populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing public health programs, preferably within underserved or Latino communities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of health issues affecting the Latino community and familiarity with public health systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with data management, outcomes reporting, and continuous quality improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in grant writing and reporting.
