About the position

Coreworks, LLC is seeking a Director of Housekeeping and Plant Operations to oversee all operational aspects of housekeeping and plant operations in a senior living environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. The Director will lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional service and hospitality, aligning with the company’s commitment to resident experiences and operational excellence. The position requires a strong focus on compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those set forth by the State Health Department, NFPA, and CMS. The Director will be responsible for reviewing, planning, organizing, and controlling all functions and activities under the scope of the contract, ensuring that all services meet the established standards and expectations of the community. In this role, the Director will develop, recommend, and implement new programs, services, policies, and procedures that enhance the quality of life for residents. Effective communication is essential, as the Director will lead all departmental communications with clients, resident groups, and regional leadership. Monitoring the flow and quality of work is crucial to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to community standards. The Director will also serve as a liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and product suppliers, maintaining the department in an inspection-ready state at all times. The Director will implement changes to services that improve the desirability of the community for current and future residents, fostering an environment that encourages creativity and innovation among associates. Additionally, the Director will advise on structural changes and modifications to buildings on the property and support the growth and development of the team members.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies including the State Health Department, NFPA, and CMS.
  • Reviews, plans, organizes, and controls functions and activities of all support services under the scope of the contract.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements new programs, services, policies & procedures.
  • Leads all aspects of departmental communications to all customers including client, resident groups, regional leadership, etc.
  • Monitors flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to communities' standards.
  • Serves as a liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and product suppliers.
  • Maintains the department in an 'inspection ready' state at all times.
  • Implements changes to the services that improve desirability of the community for current as well as future residents.
  • Encourages and cultivates associate creativity and innovation with all community programs.
  • Advises on structural changes and additions and/or modifications to all buildings on property.
  • Encourages growth and development of the teams.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years responsibility at a director level in areas of plant operations and environmental services, including laundry, transportation, grounds, and maintenance in a healthcare or residential building or similar community.
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in CMMS Systems and Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with Federal & State healthcare surveys (long-term care setting preferred).
  • Technical knowledge of electric/plumbing/HVAC systems.
  • Prior experience working with Building Automation and Building systems such as HVAC, Refrigeration, Boilers, Electrical, Mechanical, and Pneumatic Controls.
  • Working knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA regulations.
  • California driver license, proof of insurance, clean driving record, and ability to travel to pick up supplies as needed.

Nice-to-haves
