About the position

The Director of Human Resources and Operations at Kaleidoscope Inc. is responsible for creating and promoting a positive, multicultural work environment that supports the organization's training, operational methods, and technology needs. This role is pivotal in developing a culture that emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring that employees feel a sense of belonging and can perform at their best. The Director oversees HR practices, office functions, and collaborates with executive leadership to enhance internal communications and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support human resources practices and policies throughout the employee experience, including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, and separation.
  • Manage all agency office functions, including leasing, reception, cleaning, maintenance, and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Support the confidential storage of agency case files.
  • Consult with agency leaders and employees to resolve employee-relations issues.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor effective staffing and training plans in consultation with the Chief Program Officer.
  • Create and maintain a progressive employee benefits package and salary grading system.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the information technology system.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Manage the COA Accreditation process.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen internal communications as a member of the Executive leadership team.
  • Collaborate on strategic and financial planning with the Executive leadership team.
  • Maintain communication with the Executive Director regarding critical issues.
  • Act as staff liaison to the Risk Management Committee of the Board.
  • Recruit, screen, hire, train, and evaluate direct reports including the Human Resource Manager, Office and IT Manager, Receptionist, and IT consultants.
  • Provide supervision and ongoing feedback to direct reports to ensure department goals are met.
  • Prepare for agency licensing, contract monitoring, and grant compliance visits.

Requirements

  • Experience in employee orientation and training & development.
  • Knowledge of child protective services and recruiting processes.
  • Senior-level experience in human resources and operations management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DCFS policy and procedure, Medicaid Community Mental Health Services Rule 132, and Council on Accreditation Standards.
