About the position

The Director of HR Operations at EverQuote is responsible for overseeing the administration and evaluation of HR operations, including benefits, compensation, performance management, and compliance. This hybrid role involves leading a team of HR professionals and collaborating with senior leaders to enhance employee relations and streamline HR processes while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the onboarding process post offer acceptance through company orientation.
  • Develop and implement performance management processes including regular performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Establish and maintain a clear job leveling framework in collaboration with senior leaders.
  • Develop and maintain competitive salary ranges and incentive structures with the finance department.
  • Manage benefits programs, including open enrollment and administration, in collaboration with the finance department.
  • Own the HRIS analytics and reporting systems, ensuring accurate updates to people-related data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in HR operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate employee policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of HR practices and policies with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Lead and support HR projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing HR functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior successful experience working in a high growth environment, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) are a plus.
