About the position

EverQuote is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Human Resources Operations to join our growing team. This hybrid position requires at least 2-3 days per week in our corporate headquarters located in Cambridge, MA. The Director of HR Operations will report to the General Counsel and will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of HR operations within the organization. This includes managing benefits, compensation, employee relations, training, performance management, change management, compliance, employee records, and other workplace initiatives. In this role, you will lead a team of HR professionals, providing direction and support to enable their success while enhancing the team's proficiency in employee relations, HR-related compliance, immigration, benefits operations, audits, and other core operational functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen and will serve as a professional and positive leader in a dynamic and changing environment. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the onboarding process post offer acceptance through company orientation, ensuring a smooth handoff to the hiring manager.
  • Develop and implement clear and effective performance management processes, including regular performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to establish and maintain a clear job leveling framework for consistent job classifications.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to develop and maintain competitive salary ranges and incentive structures.
  • Manage benefits programs, including open enrollment and communication to ensure attractive employee benefits offerings.
  • Own the HRIS analytics and reporting systems, ensuring accurate updates to people-related data and developing dashboard reports.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in HR operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate employee policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure all HR practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, partnering with senior leaders on legal matters.
  • Lead and support HR projects as needed, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing HR functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve complex problems in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a successful track record of establishing credibility and trust with a diverse client group.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and business applications, adopting technology to organize work and streamline processes.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, negotiating, influencing, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear reports and deliver presentations.
  • Prior successful experience working in a high growth environment, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected changes and deal with ambiguity.
