About the position

The Human Resources Director is responsible for directing, organizing, planning, and developing the implementation and administration of human resources functions within the company's SG&A functions. This role oversees personnel policies, staffing, employee education, management development, labor relations, and benefits administration, while providing guidance to HR Business Partners across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Human Resources Business Partners (HR Managers) to provide HR support for corporate SG&A functions.
  • Serve as a strategic resource for Executive Leadership on organizational design, development, and job analysis.
  • Provide counseling and assistance to business partners in HR areas such as policy, benefits, salary administration, and employee relations.
  • Act as a change agent for HR policies and practices, assisting in their review and revision.
  • Support the deployment of the Woodmark culture and advocate for employees in employee relations situations.
  • Manage additional projects as assigned in support of the company's vision.
  • Model the company's CITE principles and Working in Teams principles.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 7 years of management experience in HR, with a history of progressively responsible roles.
  • Experience as an HR business partner in a large organization is preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and administering HR programs including recruiting, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Successful track record in project management and team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of various Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Client Server environments.
  • Excellent personal computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Certification through SHRM and/or HRCI is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
