About the position

The Director of Human Resources Operations is responsible for executing strategies that attract, retain, and develop a diverse pool of premier talent within the organization. This position plays a critical role in directing and collaborating with human resource employees on various functions including recruitment, total compensation, employee relations, and training and development. The Director will execute objectives outlined in the Human Resource Business Plan, ensuring that services provided meet or exceed the needs of employees while enabling overall business success. Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures is paramount in this role. In managing legal and compliance practices, the Director ensures that terminated employee files are retained for the required duration and that all human resource audits are compliant. Proper documentation of all progressive disciplinary actions must be maintained in employee files, and adherence to key policies such as Sexual Harassment, Non-Harassment, Non-Discrimination, and No Solicitation is essential. The Director will also work with unemployment services to respond to claims and represent the organization in unemployment hearings, ensuring fair treatment of employees throughout the process. The role also involves managing human resources communication, where timely communication of changes to benefit plans and property rules is crucial. The Director will coach managers on the progressive discipline process and ensure that performance evaluations and merit increase paperwork are properly maintained. Establishing and maintaining open, collaborative relationships with employees is a key focus, as is the monitoring of the work environment for signs of union organization. The Director will also solicit employee feedback and organize community service events to enhance employee engagement and retention.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major with 2 years of experience in human resources, management operations, or a related professional area.
